A TRIUMPHANT DAY FOR GREEN BAY:
Plans announced for new cancer survivorship, support and resource center.
Green Bay, WI - A group of local cancer survivors and co-survivors are spearheading a campaign to promote survivorship in Northeast Wisconsin and have officially announced their plans to create a new broad-based support hub for cancer: Triumph Cancer Resource Center, Inc. (Triumph CRC).
The comprehensive, community center - taking its cue from the Lance Armstrong/CDC "National Action Plan for Cancer Survivorship" - will be the first of its kind in the area and aspires to be a trendsetter for the state of Wisconsin.
"We believe that community-integrated survivorship models are the future of cancer care, and we're ready to help lead the charge in Northeast Wisconsin through the development of the Triumph Cancer Resource Center," said Kay VanBoxel, Triumph CRC co-founder and cancer co-survivor. "We are working very closely with all of the local cancer facilities in planning our programs and we are proud to have their support and participation on our Medical Advisory Board."
